Applications for Connecting HR Global 2017 are now LIVE!

Are you an HR professional with an interest in genuine, hands-on corporate social responsibility?

Retrak is seeking HR professionals to participate in real CSR to help enrich the lives of homeless children in both Uganda and Brazil.

Retrak works to transform lives and provide positive futures for the world’s most vulnerable children who live, work and sleep on the streets. Last year, Retrak launched Connecting HR Africa, for which a team of HR professionals travelled to our centres in Kampala, Uganda. During their visit, volunteers applied their industry specific and personal skills to leave a lasting impact on both the staff and young people of Retrak. Furthermore, funds raised by participating volunteers significantly contributed towards the continuation and development of Retrak’s international projects in 2016.

The trip was a huge success for all involved, inspiring Retrak to go bigger and bolder. We are subsequently delighted to announce the launch of Connecting HR Global 2017, with projects to be hosted in both Uganda and Brazil.

This year’s Connecting HR Global Volunteer Programme will be a unique opportunity for volunteers to have a direct, positive impact on the lives of street children and the work of Retrak. A mixed team of HR/L&D professionals will divide their time between working with the children at Retrak’s centres (spending time with the children on activities, games, and crafts) and using their professional skills to help develop the capacity of Retrak staff. Last year, this involved running development workshops for all staff, coaching, and running leadership development programmes for managers. For this, we warmly welcome applications from individuals who have valuable skills and experience, such as working with young people or   designing workshops, to contribute towards this initiative. We also hope to provide an opportunity to network with local HR and L&D professionals.
